Emailing Basics: Irritant Or Liberator, a must know for List Builders





Initially email (short for electronic mail) was a service which allowed researchers and scientists working on government sponsored projects to communicate with co-workers via the internet while in separate locations. Emailing programs like outlook express can be used to send, receive, create, store, print and delete email messages. A "username" and domain name, provided by Internet Access Providers(IAP or ISP) for example Google, gmail, or Yahoo mail are essentially building blocks of an email address. An email address provides an individual the ability to receive internet messages (email) in a variety of styles and formats. For example if we decide to use gmail to obtain a email address, our email address will look something like this, yourusername@gmail.com.

I use to wonder what the @ symbol stands for... I finally performed researched about what this symbol means, and found out the symbol @ is a initialism of the words, "pronounced at" and is used to simply separate the username from the domain name.

Modern technology allows us humans to communicate via the internet, through a process known as "internet telephony" or voice-over-IP(Internet Protocol). This feature leverages the internet in a way that connects a calling party, for example a "Publisher" to one or more local or long-distance called parties (or Recipient). Understand that when in the process of Sending Our Marketing Messages, that just as we address a letter when using a postal delivery service. In order for the intended recipient to receive our message... We are required to have prior knowledge of there specific email address to be able to contact them, and vice verse.

The Outgoing mail servers discovers the most effective and appropriate route for our message, then sends the message traveling along internet routers to the recipient's incoming mail server.

Technology provides us with the ability to specify our criteria using filters which can be used to determine what to do with incoming messages as they arrive. To manage this feature, first open your gmail account and proceed to the "create a filter" link on the top of your gmail account which is located on the right-hand side of the "Search the Web" button. Now input the email addresses of people whose messages you want/or don't want to receive in the "From:" section. Then select the "Next Step" button, now Categories it using the specific options as you wish. For example, you can choose the "Apply the Label" option to organize the messages from a particular email in a specific area you wish (e.g.Folder). Just check mark the "Apply the Label" section, and click "Choose Label" then scroll down to "New Label" to categories a specific email address to be placed. You may also choose to "Delete it" and/or Star incoming messages, from this specific email address. When done click the "Create Filter" button, you may also apply the same criteria to existing messages encompassing that email address by check marking the "Also Apply Filter to xxx conversations below" xxx is how many messages received from a particular email address.

As you receive email messages an incoming mail server-also operated by our IAP or Internet Access Provider, holds the messages in our inbox until we use our email program to retrieve them. In respect to acknowledging the
Importance of building our list, and personalization when sending our marketing messages to our opt-in mailing list. Our responsibilities as list builders is one maintain the privacy and feeling of importance for our list. Therefore putting the email address of our Opt-in List in the "To:" field deprives our list the unalienable right of privacy and self-empowerment... A solution to this problem is using the mail merge feature provided by the combined capabilities of Microsoft Outlook 2003, and Microsoft Word 2003 (You may Also use Word 2007 to Mail Merge Outlook not required). Mail merge allows us to address our list in a personalized format, by creating a single message for each recipient. Mail merge uniquely enables us the ability of providing the same information, in each version of a document or in this case an email message. POP or IMAP?

The most common way used to access email is known as Post Office Protocol, or POP. Emails or messages that arrive to you are stored on POP severs at your ISP, or Internet Service Provider. Once connected to your POP account, messages are downloaded to your computer and remain here until you remove them.

Who Should use POP and who Shouldn't


Althought POP email programs are good for people who usually don't use or have to manage or work with there email on other computers. POP email programs aren't good for any individual who is required to use or work with there email on other computers outside of there own. The reason why this is so is because POP email programs do not allow you to work with your emails on another computer. An example of POP emailing programs are, outlook express or microsoft outlook eudora etc...(you are only able to view and work with your emails on your personal computer.)

What is IMAP?


Email messages are either downloaded (POP), or remain on your computer (IMAP). IMAP or internet Message Access Protocol emailing programs are more well-rounded and efficent. IMAP allows access to your incoming emails on any computer your using. Any email messages that arrive at a IMAP email account remain on the server until deleted.

Anyone who uses a telephone modern to connect to the internet. IMAP provides you with the ability to decrease of limit or completely stop messages from being stored on your local hard disk...Yes, you have choosen options, like whether or not you want to download messages only when you read your messages. Thus increasing the overall performance if using a telephone modern to connect to the internet.

IMAP Provides a "Caching" Option...


Have you ever found it to be frustrating to not be able to view or manage your emails because your internet connection is down...=(
IMAP provides a "Caching" option in which your allowed to copy you mail on to your computer, thus positioning yourself so your able to view and manage your mail on-line
as well as Off-line to...^_^

Use your Website to set-up "Caching"...


In the panel of your website, select mail perferences then choose an account. Now select the advanced button, and select any message you want using the "Keep copies of messages for off-line viewing" which will cache those messages you want to work with off-line.

Restrictions may apply depending on your ISP, or Internet Service Provider. Mainly the amount of messages your allowed to download and keep on the IMAP server, additionally how large each message can be.

Email Marketing-The Importance of Email Space For Customer Relations and Effective List Building

Before I discuss what email space is, and how it's related to effectively building relationships with your prospects. I want to make sure you are aware of the difference between bandwidth, and storage.

What Storage is.

Webmasters are limited to the amount of information or data in which can be stored on there website. This type of limitation is known as storage. Imagine a stadium (or server) with the capacity of allowing 10,000 people to park there vehicle in the parking lot. Each vehicle is valued at 1 MB of mega bytes so the maximum amount of mega bytes or vehicles you can park or store in this particular stadium or server is 10,000 mega bytes.

What Bandwidth is.

Webmasters are also limited to the amount of information or data which can be downloaded to there websites in a certain amount of time. Imagine the entrance to the stadium is narrow. Lets say your in a rental truck valued at 3,000 mega bytes, when you drive this truck (or data) through the narrow park entrance 3,000 of your 10,000 bandwidth space is took up. Occasionally bandwidth is limited to for example, renting only one truck, or only one download. Under these circumstance this is all that can be fitted in your bandwidth limit. Any additional data or trucks are stopped from being rented or downloaded until the previously rented truck or data is finished driving through the narrow entrance or is finished being fully downloaded.

Webmasters usually encounter or possess a website with a bandwidth limited to, for example renting a certain amount of trucks or storing a certain amount of data on a per month, per week bases.
Keeping in mind the amount of bandwidth is limited to 10,000 mega bytes per hour, if you for example rent two trucks valued at 5,000 mega bytes your bandwidth has reached it's limit. Your pc or computer deny any requests to access any more trucks or data by using a barrier between the truck or data and the pc.

Putting it together with Email Space...

Now that you have an understanding of what storage is, we can now discuss email space. Internet service providers, or ISP provide you with a email account with a email quota or default storage space of 500 mega bytes. There are different types of email services such as POP, or IMAP. POP or post office protocal is the most commonly used email service, and when you check your mail the messages are downloaded to your mail server until removed. Examples of a POP email service is microsoft outlook, or outlook express, this type of email service only allows access to manage and work with your mail on your own server or computer only. IMAP allows access to your incoming emails on any computer your using. Unlike POP, email messages arriving to you remain on your Internet service providers mail server until deleted.

Whether your using POP or IMAP email service, if you max out your mail quota your email program will stop working correctly. Any new arriving email will not be able to reach you. The jaws of life won't be able to reestablish your email program, unless you purchase more storage.

How this Occurs?

As new emails arrive at your email system (POP or IMAP) it is then sent to a personal area or space on your email services email server. Messages either stay on the server (IMAP), or are downloaded from the server (POP) when you check your email. Depending on email program settings those messages may stay on that email server for 3 days to over a month. If the amount of time a message stays on the server is to long, or a file attachment to large...you eventually run out of email storage space. Because your personal email space filled up, you are no longer able to receive emails.

How Email Space Relates to Customer Relations.

If you no longer can receive emails then your prospects or customers will not be able to connect or reach you. Building relationships with your prospects is essential in order to increase conversions rates for products or services your attempting to sell to your opt-in mailing list. Running out of email space frustrates your prospects or customers because they might have important questions for you. If you can't answer them because they can't reach you, they will begin to start thinking you don't care or you just want them to make profit for yourself.

How to fix this problem using Webmail in your panel.

With Webmail, you just simply delete the message you already viewed and no longer have use for. Then click purge deleted to clear storage space on your email server. This action also results in a quicker download of email messages when checking your mail.

Maybe you want them to tell a friend about your services... When emailing your list, explain who you are, what you want, why your prospects should care about this email, what is in it for them and finally what they should do now. An email resulting in prospects guessing is considered a failure. Answer those five important questions above, and your 75% there already.

Email your newsletter to your prospects at least once a month during your advertising campaign. How To Build a Opt-In Frenzy

How to Build your Website, and how list building can allow you to know the wants and needs of your Prospects.


Tell me if you've heard this before, the money is in your list. Building your profitable opt-in list, is a long process. The first step is to have a website. Your website should provide numerous navigational features for your visitors. I highly recommend having your sign up box, postioned on the top of every page. Building your list allows you to find out what people want or need in your choosen niche.

Reasure your prospects, and How to find a good topic for your newsletters


Provide incentive along with a concrete privacy statement reassuring your potential customers that you will not sell,rent or abuse there email address in anyway. Next you want to find a topic for your list, in which you are passionate about. I recommend writing a list on topics that you are interested in, or that you know or are an expert of. Label each topic with a problem that it's facing, and narrow it down to the most profitable niche.
You can find out which niche is most profitable by simply inputting topics keywords at google.com If for example when you type in the keywords and you see a one out of 1 million results. But another keyword topic results in a one out of 50 million, you'll then realize that the conversion rate of the second option is greater. Thus more profit...

Providing Incentives, and how to come up with Content for your subscribers. If your unable to Find one on your Own.


When creating your newsletters, it is important to provide your list an incentive. A free product related to your topic like a report, in which you can create yourself. Private label rights are another option especially if your experiencing trouble with coming up with your own content for your newsletters etc... To find private label rights, on your topic go to google.com then type in your topic for your newsletters, and end it with private label articles. For example, if your topic for your newswletters is dogs, then type in dogs private label articles and you should find many articles on your topic. What private label rights are is basically being given the right to edit and/or resell products like ebooks, in your name. Private label right is an excellent strategy for listbuilding.

How to create your Landing Page, and the importance of your ads description


Next is creating your landing page. When someone clicks your ads, the page that results is known as your landing page. For a dramatic increase in conversion rates, be sure that the call of action of your ads resembles or are simular to the call of action on your landing page. Why? because your visitors click on an ad based on description of a topic that interests' them. When they realize the description doesn't match the landing pages content description. They will then proceed to the crisscross, red icon on the top of there browser resulting in know conversion.

Should Testimonials be apart of your landing pages


Then perhaps the most important aspect of your landing page is, the art of testimonials. Testimonials should definitely be apart of your website content. Because people want to see believable proof that your website is concrete an in some way profitable to them. Testimonials are most effectively postioned by relevant ads on your landing page, about a specific part of your product or service. For example, the tools you provide, resources, marketing material etc...

How to Write to your list, and why you shouldn't put other links on your landing page.


Entice your visitors by using second person language. For example, "We invite you to..." instead of sounding demanding by saying,"You should go to..." or "go to...because" etc... In doing so, your conversion rates will climb once again. Also make sure the only way off your landing page is the opt-in link, or the red crisscross button on the top. Why? because taking your visitors to a different area of your website, makes it less likely for them to convert. So if possible, display as little amount of links off your landing page. I recommend setting your landing page up, so that the can view other parts of your website. But without leaving the landing page.

Now that we've wrapped this present up. It's time to put on the bow...using autoresponders programs for turn key solutions. Autoresponders allow you to for example, set up your email newsletters to be automatically sent to your list without lifting a single fingure.
